Vintage leather attack dog bite sleeve
A beautifully patinated leather bite gauntlet, used to train service dogs to attack the forearm. Likely to be mid 20thC, it is heavily made of thick stitched hide with leather thonging to tighten, the inside is lined with green felt and has a leather loop at the bottom for the fingers to hold onto.
A very sculptural item with a deep, warm colour, it looks great as a decorative statement piece for the home or could even be used for its original purpose once more.
Approx 58.5cm (23") long
Bite marks, scuffs and patination commensurate with use and age, but no loose stitches or damage otherwise.
