Heavily stained H.P. Truefitt antique chemist pot

A rare heavily stained antique ironstone perfumers pot, decorated with bold dimensional typography for H.P Truefitt Limited, Burlington Arcade & Aldershot.

Established in 1805, Truefitt is considered the oldest barbershop in the world, and is certified as such by the Guinness book of records. Examples of their pots were also among items recovered from the titanic.

Dimensions:

7.5cm diameter

6.1cm tall

Condition:

Originally white ironstone, this pot has been recovered from a Victorian bottle dump. The rusty colour staining and roughly textured surface indicates it was near metal object in a tip that was burned. Otherwise there are no chips or cracks, and it is an interesting and decorative example with unique patination and wear.
