Thames Private Pleasure Vessel enamel plaque - 1940

A hexagonal enamel boat registration plaque for a private pleasure vessel on the River Thames, dated 1940. 
More scarce than the black and white oval commercial vessel types, these private vessel red kites (and others) are often retrieved from the Thames by magnet fishermen, however this example appears to have been saved from being thrown overboard and is in superb condition.

11cm wide
8.5cm tall
Condition:
In very good condition with no chipping to the enamel, just some nibbling on the bottom left edge. Some rust on the back side and age related wear, but overall a very nice example.
