Antique Savar’s Carbolic Tooth Paste white ironstone pot

A Victorian white ironstone pot lid, decorated with a beautiful black underglaze transfer for ‘Savar’s Carbolic Tooth Paste - for cleaning and preserving the teeth and gums’.
A very attractive and increasingly scarce lid, which utilises bold dimensional typography around the rim, along with stylised lettering and decorative scrolls on the inner portion with the triangular trademark. Matched with an antique white ironstone pot base for display.

Condition:
The lid has a small old chip on the rim of the flange and some further tiny flea bites and roughness, along with some glaze crazing and wear marks. Otherwise it is quite good and relatively clean.
The base is stained and crazed, with some chips around the inner rim, but these cannot be seen when lidded.
