Antique Chemist pot lid and base - Pond’s American White Areca Nut Tooth Paste

A Victorian white ironstone pot lid and base, decorated with a delightful black under glaze transfer for G. P. Pond’s American White Areca Nut Tooth Paste - ‘Acknowledged the best preparation for beautifying & preserving the teeth & gums’.
A stylish advertising transfer which utilises various typography, along with a pictorial of the Areca nut and border lettering around the rim.

Condition:
The lid has unfortunately been in two down the middle and glued, however this has been done quite well and is not immediately obvious other than the hairline running through the middle of the transfer diagonally, and when viewed from the underside.
The base has a chip on the rim and a further bruise line, along with some crazing, staining and age related wear.
