Winsor & Newton’s Alizarin Green Mat Watercolour paint pot

A rare antique ironstone paint pot with a clip top lid and the original polychrome label. Produced for Winsor & Newton’s Mat Watercolours, this specific example was for Alizarin Green, and it even has the original green watercolour paint powder inside!
Modelled as a straight edged pot, the fitted lid is embossed with typography for Winsor & Newton Ltd. London, England. It is secured by a patent metal clip that opens by pushing the middle tab down to release the sides, which are hooked into recesses in the rim of the pot.
The entire outside circumference of the pot bears a paper label, beautifully printed in green black and gold with the companies trade mark winged lions flanking black typography, along with the contents colour banner and company address below.

Condition:
The pot has no damage, just some minor wear and firing marks. There is some tarnish and light rust to the metal clip, and the paper label is in nice condition, with some small bumps and tiny tears/losses around the top edge, but overall in superb condition otherwise.
