A Victorian white ironstone chemist pot lid and original base, made for White Cherry Tooth Paste from S. Maw, Son & Sons. Aldersgate Street, London.

A very stylish and decorative advertising transfer, which utilises a variety of typography styles, scrolling infill, double pinstripe border and the central trade mark roundel for Maw.

Condition:
The lid has a couple of tiny rough firing marks around the edge of the rim, along with a couple of small stain spots and very light wear but no damage.
The base is ever so slightly loose on the rim but matches the outer size and colour perfectly. It has three small chips on the shoulder but these cannot really be seen when lidded. There is also a further chip on the underside of the foot and some light crazing and wear.
