Antique salt glaze Art Nouveau jug - J. Edwards & Son
A Victorian white ironstone salt glaze jug, beautifully moulded with an elaborate naturalistic Art Nouveau design. With elegant arrow shaped leaves and a beaded band around the neck, the design is also incorporated into the handle, which is moulded like a thorny stem.
Complete with the original pewter lid that has a counter weighted thumb lever, the underside is embossed with a Victorian kite registration mark, along with a belted transfer makers mark for J. Edwards & Son, Dalehill.

Condition:
The pewter rim is split next to the affixing tab on the right side of the handle, it does not overly affect the display of the jug though. Some other age related wear and light marks may be present.
