Antique CH. Jaschke’s Shaving Cream pot lid and base

A Victorian white ironstone pot lid, decorated with a very attractive black under glaze transfer for “CH. Jaschke’s Shaving Cream - prepared only at 52, Regent Street, London, W.”.

A very stylish antique chemist lid, which utilises a variety of dimensional and cross shaded typography, along with a plumed coronet pictorial, classical scrolls and a gold pinstripe border around the rim of the pot.

Matched with an antique ironstone pot base for display. The lid is slightly larger than the base in diameter, but still sits nicely when on show or used as a stand.

Dimensions:

8.5cm diameter

6cm tall

Condition:

There is a flake on the rim that has been glued back in, above the CH. of the name. Otherwise the lid has some staining and marks commensurate with age, but no other significant chips or cracks.

The base has a chip on the edge of the foot, along with some crazing, staining and light wear marks.
