Antique ironstone Harris’s Clotted Cream pot

An antique ironstone cylinder cream pot, manufactured for “Harris’s Original Pure Clotted Cream from Devonshire Daily”. Decorated on both sides with purple under glaze transfer, the rear of the pot bears the railway roundel with a pictorial of a train, along with extensive advertising typography.

Retrieved from a Victorian bottle dump and presented in ‘as found’ condition, the pot has chipping around the foot, straining and crazing, but displays nicely and is priced to reflect this. The top portion of the pot is intact and displays well, so among a collection with lower pots around the base it would still look the part.

Dimensions:

6.5cm diameter

12cm tall

Condition:

Chipped around the foot, along with a couple of fine hairlines on the rim.

Stained and crazing, along with other age related wear and marks.
