White ironstone damper roller - The Digby Series stamp moistener

An antique desk damper roller, used to wet the gum on stamps and envelopes.
An interesting and decorative piece of Edwardian stationery, it consists of a white ironstone pottery water basin, which is decorated on the face with the British Made registered trademark for ‘The Digby Series’.
A large example of its type, the basin has tapering edges that support a turned wooden roller, which is complete with the original stitched damping cloth.

Condition:
The base is perfect with no damage, just some very light crazing and wear marks. 
The original wooden roller damper has some wear and marks but no damage, and also has the home stitched fabric intact.
