Edwardian ironstone purveyors pot - V. Benoist Ltd. Caviar

A scarce small Edwardian white ironstone caviar, potted meat or preserve pot, decorated with a stylish black under glaze advertising transfer for ‘V. Benoist Ltd. 36 Piccadilly, London.’.
V. Benoist was a notable London-based refreshment contractor and purveyor of luxury foods, particularly famous for caviar in the early 20th century. Registered on July 10th 1900, the company was recognized for high-end products, with later pots often bearing a Royal Appointment Warrant.
A rarely offered little white ironstone pot modelled with a notched rim and tapered foot, comparable in size (if not slightly smaller) to the small/mid size Frank Cooper marmalade pots.

Some surface crazing, light staining, wear and firing imperfections are present, but no chips or cracks and I’m very good condition otherwise.
