Rare Victorian Wedgwood scale plate - Reuben Sutcliffe, Manchester

A rare antique white ironstone scale plate, decorated with a stunning pictorial black under glaze advertising transfer for Reuben Sutcliffe, Scale Beam Manufactory, 57. Thomas Street, Manchester.
An early example made by Wedgwood, with their 19thC impressed mark on the rim, a rare feature on scale plates that eventually phased out during later mass production.

0.7cm thick
Condition:
There is an oval shaped glaze fault in the surface where the finish is matte, at the bottom left of the transfer on the rim. Otherwise in very good condition with no damage and age related wear and very light surface scratch marks.
