'Member of the Bolton & District Hairdressers Association' enamel sign
A rare antique double sided enamel sign, distributed to members of the Bolton & District Hairdressers association to be displayed in their shops as assurance of their credibility.
A very decorative & punchy monochrome sign, the stylish black typography leaps off the thick white ground, with the bottom corner of one side bearing the manufacturers mark - 'Ralph & Jordan, Birmingham'. Early 20thC, these signs will have been produced in a very limited run and other survivors of its type are very unlikely.

Age related wear, rusting and chewing around the edge but the main body of the sign is in good condition and displays very well.
